MARGARET (PEGGY) BEATRICE WOODMAN (GOETHE)
Born: Sep 19, 1913
Date of Passing: Oct 08, 2001
Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET (PEGGY) BEATRICE WOODMAN (nee GOETHE) Peacefully, with her loving family by her side, Peggy our Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend, joined our Dad and the Angels in heaven on Monday, October 8, 2001. We now have two special Angels in watch over our families. Peggy will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Left to cherish her loving memory and celebrate her life are her children and grandchildren, Dorothy and Bill Burgess and granddaughters, Stacey (David Heide), Andrea (Roland Skakun), Sherry and Rick Wood and granddaughter Ashley. Also cherishing our loving mothers memory are her sister, Dorothy Rodgers; brother-in-law Clarence Shillingford and wife Clarice and many nieces, nephews and friends. Our Mom was predeceased by our Dad, Fred in 1989; her sisters, Rust in 1988 and Cathrine in 1991; as well as her parents, Jessie and Fred Goethe. Mom was born on September 19, 1913. Mom and Dad met at St. Matthews Church, as they were both members of the church choir. On May 31, 1946, Mom and Dad were married in the same church. Mom and dad continued to be faithful members of the choir and church for many years. Peggy will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, spending her early years caring for her husband, children and family. As we grew older, she looked forward to giving her time to her grandchildren. Mom was always ready to lend a helping hand. We, her children and grandchildren, were richly blessed with her kind and gentle manner. She was never too busy to help family, friends or the aged in any way. Mom set an example of self-sacrifice, generosity, kindness and love that is difficult to emulate. Mom enjoyed crafts of all kinds. She was always busy knitting, making deerskin gloves and many other crafts. She also loved spending time in the garden. Our fondest memories of Mom are the times spent as a family, the Sunday dinners at home with Mom and Dad and the many festive holidays - she always went out of her way for family and friends. Mom was a wonderful loving and compassionate person who touched the lives of many people with her wisdom, her kind words, soothing voice, gentle touch, kindness of spirit and her warm and caring heart. Mom dressed with style and lived her life with grace and dignity. She walked softly upon this earth, an Angel among us, touching the hearts of everyone she met. Mom and Dad enjoyed many wonderful years together. Now they are together for all eternity, to walk hand in hand with the angels in heaven, as they walked hand in hand here on earth. Mother and Grandmother, Our Special Angel Thank you for being someone weve always been able to turn to for acceptance, reassurance and love. Someone who taught us kindness and values that will last, until the end of time. Someone who keeps growing dearer to us each moment. Thank you Mom, for filling our lives with so much love, You made us who we are today. You will always be a part of us, in thought, in heart and in love. You will always be our Guardian Angel. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 12 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Matthews Anglican Church, Maryland and St. Matthews with interment to follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Pat Fox, Moms companion and friend for the past number of years. Pat, we appreciate all the care, attention and love you have shown our Mom. We also wish to thank all the Tuxedo Villa staff for the care and compassion shown our Mother for the past 11 years. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Peggys memory to the Alzheimer Society of Winnipeg, 120 Donald St., Wpg, MB R3C 4G2 or to the ALS Society of Manitoba, 2109 Portage Ave., Wpg, MB R3J 0L3 as tokens of remembrance.
